The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company asked us to help them achieve step-change innovation in sales of growing media. The challenge was to create demand equivalent in quantity to 142 Olympic size swimming pools full of their product.
Cambridge Consultants used its proprietary Structured Idea Management (SIM) process to balance the need for radical innovation with real commercial, technical and organisational constraints.
The SIM approach is a proven way of generating and selecting “step change” innovations. SIM recognises the challenges of innovation and manages these challenges by involving the right people at the right time and nurturing valuable ideas which are often dismissed as being impractical. The seven-task process typically takes 12 weeks to complete.
