Market opportunity analysis and financial model for a licensed therapeutic for brain cancer
Objective: Our client was considering licensing in a novel therapeutic to treat a form of brain cancer and wished to understand the market and to build a 10 year sales forecast in Europe.
Approach: We interviewed the various stakeholders in treating the patients in a number of European countries to determine the treatment protocols This was coupled with the rates of incidence, reimbursement, existing and emerging competitors and regulatory status to build a sales model.
Result: We developed a model that demonstrated that the market had shrunk considerably in the previous 6 months as a consequence of changes in treatment.
Outcome: Our client had a more realistic view of the market opportunity with which to use in his negotiations.
