Identification and market opportunity analysis of novel formulations for inhaled drug delivery
Objective: A drug delivery company asked us to identify and evaluate product opportunities for its inhaled drug delivery technology.
Approach: We developed screening and ranking criteria with our client and applied these in a search and selection process to generate a prioritised list of drug candidates, from external sources, for our client’s delivery technology. For each short listed drug candidate we assessed the market opportunity for the novel formulation and outlined development options, costs and timings to populate NPV models.
Result: A short list of potential drug candidates for in-house development supported by a clear rationale, and assumptions and information to support NPV modelling and business planning.
Outcome: Our client gained a clear understanding of the opportunities, costs, risks and rewards of prioritised drug candidates to support its decisions on investment in internal development.
