Objective: Our Client asked Cambridge Consultants to assess the opportunity for point of care diagnostics in a novel market area

Approach: A comprehensive programme of preliminary research together with 50 interviews across a range of key stakeholders was conducted. Interviews covered clinicians in both primary and secondary care, current and potential competitors, patient groups and other broader marker stakeholders including academics and diagnostic industry associations. Corporate interviewees included high-tech companies who may have a strategic future interest in this area.

Result: A combination of desk research and interview feedback allowed accurate segmentation of the market together with an environmental analysis. Significant market opportunities in several specific market segments were identified and quantification of the market opportunity in each segment was conducted through the development of market models which we made.
