Cambridge Consultants has served the Security and Defence market for over 40 years. We specialise in the development of innovative, high performance sensing and communication solutions for government and commercial clients.

We provide a complete development capability, from feasibility to prototype development through to transfer to manufacture, covering applications from radar and optical detection and tracking systems, to identification and characterisation of chemical substances.

Sensor Systems

We are world leaders in the development of compact, high performance sensors, including:

Communication Systems

With a quarter of our business involved in wireless communications, we bring real world expertise and a successful track record of employing software radio techniques in leading edge products for our clients in the following areas:

  • Low power, reconfigurable wireless systems
  • Customisation of standard wireless systems for bespoke applications
  • Design of agile transmission waveforms to meet the requirements of non-standard applications
  • Ground-to-air communication and satellite terminal development

Signal Processing and Algorithm Development

A significant proportion of our work involves signal processing for sensor systems and enhancements to sensor platforms in terms of sensor fusion and information management:

  • Algorithm design, development and implementation on custom processor cores, DSP devices and novel architectures
  • Bayesian processing for systems with requirements on low false alarm rates and high probability of detection, such as contraband detection systems and classification systems
  • Intelligent Agent based software for command and control decision support systems for land, air and naval systems

All of our work is supported by dedicated laboratory facilities and an in-house prototyping, and low volume manufacturing capability.
