Clinical Diagnostics
Cambridge Consultants has a proven track record of more than 15 years in delivering successful product design and development projects for our global clients across the clinical diagnostics industry. Our work embraces large clinical laboratory systems, through to Point-of-Care and disposable personal testing devices.
Working with clients who range from start-ups with novel technologies to blue chip corporations with high volume products we recognise that the need for innovation and time to market are critical in today's rapidly changing market. Through the implementation of system engineering, risk management, rapid prototyping and technical management techniques, Cambridge Consultants has successfully delivered for more than 50 companies since 2001.
Some of our areas of expertise include:
Diagnostic instrument development
Employing system engineering techniques at the beginning of your programme, our multidisciplinary teams of mechanical, electronic & software engineers, optical physicists, chemists, fluidics specialists and industrial designers are able to produce better products. Working within a regulatory framework this ensures the seamless integration of the assay and instrument enabling development to proceed to launch swiftly and smoothly.
Consumable development
As a leader in diagnostics engineering we maintain an up to date knowledge of the latest developments in assay technologies and their overall impact on the system architecture of your product. With this knowledge, together with our optical specialists, we are able to design and develop low cost consumables suitable for volume production that maximise the potential of your assay.
Process and automation
We are specialists in production engineering and are able to design, develop and build production lines for high volume manufacture. By implementing technical cost modelling techniques we are able to provide early design optimisation and the development of a supply chain that is appropriate to your global production needs.
Technical due diligence
Companies often need to determine the state of a project or product, either as part of a health check or as part of an acquisition. Using our extensive experience and core competencies we are able to quickly and professionally review and report on the status or a project, produce a risk assessment and indicate a recovery plan.
