Prototype
Development for Rapid Microbiological Testing
We applied our established techniques
for technical and project risk management to facilitate fast
track device development. Rapid proofing and concept studies
enabled the early demonstration of technical feasibility
and allowed us to complete the first prototype within 6 months.
We worked intensively with Acolyte's microbiology team to map and characterise
their research assays for transfer to the instrument. An assay process specification
was produced that was consistent with the instrument requirements to form an
integrated technical platform for both assay and instrument development. Taking
a system view of the development challenge, including assay integration, enabled
us to resolve conflicting and demanding requirements on technical performance,
whilst addressing the client's need for a fast track route to market that meets
their objective of product launch in 2 years.
