Cambridge
Consultants Limited (CCL) has
sponsored a performance by Professor
Bonkers and his travelling laboratory
at Cherry Hinton Community Junior
School. 170 children aged 7-11
were entertained by Professor
Bonkers and his assistant Bunsen.
This
is the latest initiative in
CCLs educational support
programme, spanning Junior school
KS2 (7-11), through to GCSE
level and its well-established
Technology Scholar programme
for school leavers before going
to university.
Professor
Bonkers demonstrated magnetism
in a fun and exciting adventure
where, through experiments,
the children learned that opposites
attract, gravity is crucial
and without magnetism we wouldnt
survive! The 60 minute interactive
show teaches children about
experimentation and investigation,
how to stay safe when doing
experiments and appropriate
scientific vocabulary. Professor
Bonkers doesnt shy away
from big words, but just makes
them a little bit easier to
say.
CCL
believes that by stimulating
a childs interest in science
from an early stage, this leads
to inquiring minds and helps
produce scientists and technologists
of the future. By sponsoring
events such as the Professor
Bonkers shows, or pupils themselves
at later stages in their education,
the company aims to help ensure
the continuation of a nation
of great scientists.

everyday situations.
