Dr Elizabeth Hill of Cambridge Consultants appointed Biotechnology Advisor to New Zealand

• Head of Transaction Support of Cambridge Consultants to counsel New Zealand biotech companies on entry into new markets

Cambridge Consultants today announced that Dr Elizabeth Hill, Head of Transaction Support, has been nominated European Biotechnology Advisor to New Zealand. 

Dr Hill’s role involves providing expert recommendations and opinions about the global biotech market to New Zealand companies in the space.  She is part of the Beachheads advisory board, which gives high-growth-potential companies faster access to better international networks. Beachheads provides input and expertise from industry luminaries to help New Zealand and offshore businesses accelerate their entry and growth in key export markets.

Dr Hill has over twenty years’ experience in the technology sector, focused mainly on healthcare and life sciences.  She has held a number of directorships including the UK NHS Health Authority, and is currently a member of an independent healthcare council.    

Dr Hill commented, "New Zealand's research institutions, together with its wide range of domestic and international alliances, continue to play a critical role in the development of the biotechnology sector.  New Zealand also offers the valuable combination of IT expertise in healthcare together with a range of natural biological  sources, making it an ideal partner for a range of life science and healthcare companies.”

Dr Hill will be attending the BIO International Convention in San Diego from June 17th – 20th, 2008.  She will meet a number of companies and also participate in a series of high-level meetings about the future of biotech research and potential partnerships between companies in New Zealand and other markets.
