Revolutionary new technology for cosmetic market primed for mass production

Cambridge, UK - March 3, 2003 - Power Paper Ltd, a leading provider of thin and flexible micro-power source technology and devices, announced today that it is collaborating with Cambridge Consultants Ltd, Europe's leading technology consultancy, to optimise volume manufacturing of its PowerCosmetics micro-electronic cosmetic patches. In so doing, the aim is to turn this revolutionary technology into a readily available consumer product suitable for the global beauty market.

Micro-electronic cosmetic patches significantly boost topical delivery of cosmetic formulations, increasing their overall efficacy by several orders of magnitude. Using carefully controlled micro-currents to restore skin elasticity and hydration, this method of skin rejuvenation has long been known and practised by cosmeticians and beauticians in spas worldwide. The cosmetic patch can be used to deliver a wide range of treatments addressing anti-ageing and wrinkles, firming and lifting, moisturising, skin lightening & whitening, and cellulite reduction. The cosmetic patch contains proprietary ultra-thin micro-electronic components and is suitable for home use.

Power Paper currently has agreements with three of the world's leading cosmetics groups, and its first products are expected to reach the shelves in early 2004. Cambridge Consultants is working with Power Paper to identify manufacturing technologies for large-scale commercial production.

"This is an important step in developing our capability to support the growing demand for products enabled by Power Paper technology, specifically PowerCosmetics," said Zohar Sagi, the company's Vice President for PowerNovelties and PowerInks.

"Power Paper's aim is to develop PowerCosmetics patch production lines that are capable of manufacturing tens of millions of patches per year. A number of leading providers world-wide have expressed interest in becoming authorised manufacturers of PowerCosmetic patches, based on the optimisation project," according to Sagi.

David Wood, a CCL director commented,"This project draws upon our track record of helping companies to take cutting edge technologies into volume production, and harnesses our experience in the fields of manufacturing, healthcare, electronics and consumer products."
