The group undertakes both client funded and internally funded projects.

You will also use your strong project management skills and industry knowledge to make a significant contribution to development projects and to participate in consultancy work within client companies.
To achieve this, you will be expected to:
- Manage complex, high-value, multi-disciplinary programmes to the client’s and Cambridge Consultants’ satisfaction in terms of time-scales, budgets, quality standards and specification.

To meet the demanding requirements of this role you will have an excellent degree in engineering, materials science or a related discipline, with a further degree or PhD being an advantage. You should also have significant industrial experience of the surgical or medical products industry, with a good grasp of theory, practical laboratory work and device design techniques. A thorough understanding of the regulatory framework in which medical products are developed is essential for this role and experience of materials selection, manufacturing techniques and sterilisation processes would be strongly advantageous.
A proven ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians is essential. You will have an appreciation of risk management tools used in product development and have had hands-on experience of design and analytical tools.
