Graduate Engineer or Mathematician
Main purpose of the job
To work on client assignments and provide key ideas for projects involving algorithm development and digital signal processing for radar and radio location systems and sensors.
Type of work undertaken by the division/group
The Radio Sensing Group encompasses our expertise in the fields of radio frequency based detection, location and imaging, advanced control and signal processing. Our radio sensing and imaging work is based on systems such as radar and wireless communications technology. This work is currently extending to the areas of sensor fusion with image processing devices. A large part of the expertise is based around advanced signal processing expertise. There will also be opportunities to work in extracting information from complex signals in a range of more general measurement applications especially in the field of optical sensing systems.
Specific responsibilities
Engineers work on client assignments in multidisciplinary project teams, sometimes on more than one concurrently and in different team roles. High quality work is essential from every team member.
As a project team member you would be responsible for carrying out your specific project tasks within the time-scales and budgets agreed with your project managers. There are many aspects to the work in addition to design. As your experience develops, you might wish to take on further responsibilities.
You will work on the design of digital signal processing algorithms for imaging, detection and sensing systems, and their implementation in hardware and/or embedded software.
