Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineer System Architect

Main purpose of the job

Cambridge Consultants is a leading technology and innovation company.  We are seeking an electrical engineer to serve as system architect for mixed-signal medical devices.

Position responsibilities

You will assume a design role for the development of electronic medical products from specification through validation. You will:

• Define comprehensive mixed-signal architectures for medical instruments and devices
• Lead tasks across the entire development cycle including specification, design, prototype debug, validation and documentation
• Participate in meetings and presentations with clients, communicating ideas and engineering concepts across disciplines
• Support business development in client meetings and be involved in project planning
• Interact with team members in the US and UK from various disciplines: software, mechanical, optics, life sciences and regulatory

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years of hands on hardware design, including both analog and digital
• Solid expertise in mixed signal system architecture
• System-level familiarity with mechanical design, understanding of physics and materials
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required (Master’s degree is a plus)
• Medical device experience is a plus
• Travel (up to 30%), including international travel
• Permanent residency or US citizenship required
