Wireless
IC Design
Cambridge Consultants delivers innovative Application-Specific
Integrated Circuit designs by combining wireless system expertise
with advanced mixed-signal engineering and the very latest DSP
and software radio techniques.
Our knowledge of implementing Radio Frequency circuits on CMOS
enables cost-effective integration of wireless Systems on Chip
(SoC) with processors, memory and peripherals.
Cambridge Consultants has designed
wireless ICs for over a decade. We are successful at providing
RF solutions that meet clients’ product
requirements. Our team possesses a breadth of experience capable
of meeting IC design challenges ranging from the latest leading
edge radio standards through to very low cost systems. Our highly
integrated solutions combine high performance with low power.
We approach RF design systematically and not as a black art,
helping ensure that specification is met first time. Our low
risk approach has delivered many successful projects on time
and within budget.
Our wireless architects and IC designers are used to working
with a wide diversity of radio standards and protocols including
Bluetooth, ZigBee, WiFi, WiMax and UWB. We understand the global
wireless spectrum and can determine the optimum solutions for
operating in the Industrial, Scientific and Metering (ISM) bands.
Our single chip radios for these standards operate at frequencies
of 186, 433 and 900 MHz, 2.4 and 5 GHz and beyond. Where possible
we work with standard high volume CMOS silicon technology, but
if necessary we can design on SiGe or other RF capable processes.
We can reuse our CCLASIC
silicon IP to reduce project timescales
and risk. Examples of our RF CMOS IP include low noise amplifiers,
mixers, image reject mixers, power amplifiers, up mixers, synthesisers,
VCOs, pre-scalers and band pass filters. We also have high-performance
DSP technology for software defined radio applications.
Most of all, it is our deep understanding and knowledge of wireless
technology, propagation, antenna, modulation, channel modelling,
coding schemes and protocols that differentiates our capability.
Combining this competence with our excellence in engineering
makes us the right partner for a wireless IC project.
