Ember Corporation needed to leapfrog the competition to develop
a single chip ZigBee radio.
They achieved this by purchasing the Intellectual Property of
Cambridge Consultants and hiring a specialist design team with
background in the area.
Buying in a proven 802.15.4 portfolio
in this way reduced their risk and allowed them to achieve
their goal of leading the ZigBee single chip market.
Ember have had flexible access to a specialist design team to
support their own team through the development process.
This has allowed Ember to produce a complete ZigBee solution in
far less time than would otherwise have been the case. Their time
to market was therefore reduced dramatically.
