Commercial agriculture is facing a labor issue as a result of changing demographic and economic factors and farmers now look to robotic automation and machine learning to ensure their crops get to market.  Robotic solutions in agriculture are challenging and require customization, mobility and concurrent development of sensing, vision and machine learning.  Additionally, changes to farming layout, practices and plant genetics are needed to enable a viable robotic system.
