dPCR is a well-established and powerful technique but there remains a need to reduce the read time for the very large, multispectral droplet count necessary for serial measurement. This applies particularly for the detection of rare mutants and diagnostic applications. There is also an emerging requirement for the spectral analysis and characterisation of single cell, picodroplet assays.

In response we have developed a Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) using pixelated array detection suitable for the high throughput measurement of the fluorescent (FX) spectra of small droplets.
