Our expertise
We develop digital surgery platforms and ecosystems that augment surgeon decision-making, reduce outcomes variability, and increase procedural efficiency to improve the standard of patient care.
We architect high value digital surgery platforms by combing deep expertise in robotics, sensing, optics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, augmented reality, human factors, wireless connectivity, digital service design, and business model transformation.
Realising digital surgery
The healthcare industry is eagerly awaiting the reduced costs and improved outcomes that digital surgery is promising, but are we taking the right steps to bring it to life? Are our legacy systems, methods, and strategies well suited to deliver digital transformation?
This presentation explores the changes that are coming in surgery and the evolution of thinking required to create products and technologies to form the foundation of the digital future.

Facilities and tools

Digital operating room
Our Digital Operating Room is a unique innovation lab enabling clients and surgeons to collaborate with our R&D teams on transforming the future of surgery. This innovation space accelerates the development of digital surgery platforms, like next-generation surgical robots and visualization systems, as well as smart implants, and critical care systems. Clients use our Digital Operating Room for strategy and visioning workshops, human factors formative research, concept brainstorming, prototype development, and verification testing of complex digital surgery platforms.

Robotics lab - Boston, MA
This dedicated robotics research and prototyping facility enables us to develop industrial automation, warehouse robotics, cobots, agri-robots and medical robotics. This lab contains several six-axis and SCARA manipulators, hardware-in-the loop control prototyping systems, 2D and 3D vision systems, and autonomous mobile robot prototyping platforms.

VR lab
With a permanent workstation and space for room-scale testing with multiple users, we are ready to start experimenting and developing at a moment’s notice. Our VR lab features high-end machines capable of developing immersive, high-fidelity VR experiences and software licenses for the latest development tools.

Optics labs
Our suite optics labs enable us to build complex and high-precision optical layouts, typically for testing prototype designs and novel techniques prior to deployment. Featuring six high-spec optical benches with configurable interlocked controlled areas for high-power (class 4) laser work and specialist facilities for interferometry, spectroscopy, low-noise fluorescence imaging and photon counting. This space can be split into separate laser-controlled areas, allowing multiple experiments to run simultaneously, giving our optical engineers the capability to develop creative solutions without instrumentation restrictions.
