Brief
Diabetes is a chronic condition affecting one in ten adults worldwide. And for many, daily insulin injections are a fact of life.
The challenge was to develop a better way for patients to manage their condition through actionable information. The goal was to create an engaging connected delivery device without a battery, designed to seamlessly integrate into the user’s life.

Approach
Firstly, we set out to better understand how patients live with diabetes. We used our in-depth understanding to create an medical device concept and a diabetes management app.
Sensors record how the device is used and a Bluetooth module enables wireless transmission of data, leading to a system that is simple for patients.

Patients are empowered and informed, carers gain peace of mind and physicians can make better informed clinical decisions.
