Real-time nitrate sensing holds the potential for significant yield increases, cost savings, and environmental impact reduction.

At the InfoAg 2018 conference in St. Louis, Roger Burton presented our work on real-time nitrate sensing. His presentation is online at the InfoAg website

The novel system presented uses both cutting edge optical detection methods and colorimetric chemistry reactions and presents a pathway to a real-time system where the time from sample retrieval, preparation, analysis, to reactive fertilizer application is in the order of seconds.
