Contrary to some narratives, AI isn’t magic, and one size does not fit all. Successfully applying techniques in the field requires certain technical and organizational competencies. Applying these in medtech products is more challenging still, owing to the need for clinical safety and mitigation of regulatory risk.

In this panel we’ll discuss how medtech companies build and organize multidisciplinary teams to develop and support AI systems for clinical use, architect for clinical safety in various types of AI systems, think about black box vs inspectable models in regulated environments, and manage regulatory pathways for learning systems.
