Receptionist

Introduction  

We’re looking for a new member to join our front-of-house Reception team.

We’re a tight knit team who truly understand the importance of excellent customer service and working collaboratively, so we’re keen to find someone who shares our values. 

You’ll join our team of 4 to be the face of Cambridge Consultants and ensure our clients and employees always receive the best experience. 

  

The role  

Working together, we operate a busy switchboard and act as the first point of contact to all our clients, interviewees, suppliers, and other visitors.  

You’ll work 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday, on-site every day. We’d also appreciate flexibility to cover the late shift (11.00 – 19.00) when team members are on holiday or off sick.

The role will be varied, and it would be impossible to list all the things you may be involved in so here’s a snapshot of your main responsibilities: 

 

Responsibilities  

  • Dealing with external telephone calls via our Teams switchboard 
  • Greeting visitors and ensuring they are dealt with professionally during their visit 
  • Organising taxi bookings 
  • Preparation of visitor/contractor badges and regular updating of visitor log  
  • Booking meeting rooms and appropriate equipment as needed 
  • Booking/setting up video conferences 
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation in Reception area 
  • Liaising with the hostess regarding meeting room lunches and refreshments
  • Ad hoc projects and administration duties as required 

 

Other Team Tasks  

  • Ensuring meeting rooms are cleared and prepared for the next meeting
  • Liaising with the Security Team   
  • Franking outgoing post  
  • Receiving and distributing internal post   
  • Maintaining binding and stationary stock levels within the building  
  • Conducting reception refresher training for in-house employees 
  • Weekly and monthly reports
  • Daily contractor induction checks

 

 

Requirements   

We’re looking for applicants who have the following experience or skills:  

  • Experience working in a corporate environment
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—across phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a small team, while also working independently and taking initiative
  • Proven ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks without compromising on quality
  • Previous administrative experience
