Our specialisms

Food & beverages

Using our advanced expertise in food and beverage dispense technology, we enable our clients to deliver new, exciting and highly personalised experiences to their consumers.

With a dedicated beverage lab and wet and dry labs, we excel at rapid food-safe prototype development. We’re equally adept at improving existing systems, adding value and increasing quality.

Consumer health

With long experience developing both regulated medical devices and consumer products, we are ideally placed to bridge the gap between these converging markets.

From pharmaceutical companies who want to help consumers monitor and improve their health and well-being, to consumer brands looking to move into regulated product development, we create consumer-focused health technologies that meet the most challenging regulatory requirements.

Personal care & cosmetics

We develop revolutionary personal care products and services for our clients, drawing on extensive experience in diagnostics, sensing, dispense and connectivity.

With constant pressure to innovate and stay ahead of the competition, this diverse expertise allows our clients to meet the demand for personalised cosmetics, fragrances, skincare and beauty products and deliver salon-quality experiences at home.

Sports & fitness

Sports & fitness

We are at the forefront of digital performance and technique-training device development, with many leading sports brands relying on our world-class sensing, algorithm and connectivity expertise.

While the traditional activity monitor market has become commoditised, we are pioneering increasingly sophisticated techniques to capture athlete data and deliver actionable insights.

Wearables and connected systems

We provide strategic consulting and engineering design to help brands identify how they can use connectivity and the Internet of Things (IoT) to develop commercially viable connected systems.

Our multidisciplinary teams then use their expertise to balance the many requirements of wearables and connected devices, delivering rapid design, development and transfer to manufacture.

How we work

Category-leading consumer products and services don’t happen by accident. We employ a combination of design-led thinking and science-led technological excellence to maximise consumer experience and commercial impact.

We bring enthusiasm and energy to every project. Every member of our team is obsessed with thrilling consumers and passionate about their own areas of expertise – whether that’s home brewing, coffee, cosmetics, wellbeing or sports. We create radical yet robust products and experiences that transform brands and entire markets, and we also deliver robust manufacturing solutions. Whether you want to understand the landscape or completely reinvent it, we can help.

TECH, TOOLS & FACILITIES

Anechoic chamber (Stargate Satimo)

Anechoic test chamber

Our custom anechoic radio and antenna test chamber is a highly sophisticated 5m cube. Inside, we carry out automated three-dimensional measurement and visualization of wireless device behavior and test body-worn technology using body phantoms or real live test subjects. This helps us to understand and optimize real-word RF performance of products such as smart implants (including implanted telemetry), connected drug delivery devices and wearables.

Analytical laboratories

Analytical labs

Our laboratories provide high accuracy measurement and analysis for the wide range of projects we undertake. Specialist equipment includes a gas chromatography mass spectrometer (GCMS), a Matersizer particle size analyser, a Spraytec laser diffraction droplet size analyser, high-speed and thermal imaging cameras and rapid-development custom image analysis software.

Appcessory toolkit

Appcessory toolkit

This lightning-fast scoping and feasibility software platform allows us to very quickly model a connected device, saving time, preventing costly missteps and ensuring optimal performance. Taking key requirements as a starting point, we can estimate the dimensions and cost of the PCB and rapidly see how a range of design decisions influence the complex trade-off between factors such as size, power, battery life, radio range and more.

Food & beverage lab

Food & beverage lab

Specifically set up to meet the unique requirements of developing food- and beverage-safe systems, our dedicated lab means we have the necessary procedures and equipment in place to design and test new products in-house. Quantitative and scientific testing is fundamental to our science-led innovation approach, but ultimately taste tests are always needed. This is our only lab where the consumption of food and drink is not just allowed but essential!

Prototyping workshops

Prototyping workshops

Our electronic and mechanical prototyping workshops allow us to produce technically credible prototypes that bring ideas to life and offer a powerful demonstration of their value. All while maintaining extremely high standards of quality that conform to ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 regulations. Using the latest CNC and milling machines, lathes, welding gear and wire harness and cable assembly tools, we are able to produce parts very quickly and assemble full-scale working prototypes for testing and consumer trials.

We can help you achieve the seemingly impossible
