Designing disruptive technology to revolutionise diagnosis and treatment
Cambridge Consultants is holding the 5th annual Medtech Connect event on Wednesday May 22, placing Singapore at the center of medtech innovation across Asia Pacific. Medtech Connect brings together the most innovative startups, key ecosystem players and visionary medtech investors from across the region. The event is a platform designed to stimulate growth and to build the partnerships that will ensure the long-term success of the medtech ecosystem in Asia Pacific.
This year’s event reflects a partnership between Singapore’s SGInnovate and Cambridge Consultants. SGInnovate exists to help ambitious and capable people to build ‘technology-intensive’ products borne out of scientific research, and the two companies share the goal of harnessing transformational technologies, such as artificial intelligence and medtech, to provide impactful and scalable solutions to global challenges.
Medtech Connect is in two parts, combining SGInnovate’s established Investor Night and Medtech Connect into a single, exceptional program. Investor Night is a partnering event that connects entrepreneurs and the most visionary medtech investors in a series of 1:1 ‘speed dating’ style meetings. At least 16 dynamic startups will attend, drawn from Singapore, Taiwan and Australia. Attendees then move on to Medtech Connect, a networking reception for all medtech ecosystem players from across Asia Pacific. Here, a diverse panel of business leaders will discuss the challenges of moving from innovation to commercialization in each ecosystem, highlighting best practice and areas of collaboration.
Reflecting the international nature of the event, Medtech Connect is also supported by the Institute of Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI, Taiwan), Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI, Japan), Medical Device Industry Forum (MDF, Japan) and The Actuator (Australia). Speakers include:
- TONG HSIEN-HUI, Head, Venture Investing at SGInnovate (Singapore)
- PROFESSOR YOSHIYUKI TAENAKA, Co-Chairperson, Medical Device Industry Forum (Japan)
- DR CHUNG-LIANG CHIEN, CEO, Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (Taiwan)
- BUZZ PALMER, CEO, The Actuator (Australia)
- MILES UPTON, General Manager, Asia, Cambridge Consultants (Singapore)
Yan Lin Lye, VP Business Development, Asia, Cambridge Consultants and event facilitator said: “It’s our great honor to welcome a range of the most ambitious startups, investors and leaders to Singapore. Medtech Connect is a catalyst for innovation, with a natural home in Singapore. Cambridge Consultants has been a leader in medtech development globally for many years, now we look forward to helping build the ecosystems, including investment, partnerships and world-class skills that will ensure Singapore retains and grows its regional leadership.”
