Cambridge Consultants gets running

Mar 5, 2020

Cambridge Consultants is to prove its athleticism once more, as more than 50 staff members tackle the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon this Sunday March 8th. This is the sixth consecutive race to be sponsored by Cambridge Consultants, as the company shows its continued commitment to the city.

The ‘Cambridge Half’ has established itself as one of the UK’s biggest and most beautiful half marathons. Famous for being the UK’s fastest selling half marathon, the event attracts thousands of runners of all abilities to explore the historic city of Cambridge. This year’s race has a new flavor, as runners will pass through two iconic colleges of the University of Cambridge: King’s College and Jesus College. The new route will take runners on a journey through history and showcase the very best of what Cambridge has to offer. All roads will be completely closed, allowing thousands of runners to take on this new and iconic route.

The Cambridge Consultants runners will compete in a new livery this year, with black and orange running tops. Previous distinctive tops have made the runners a recognizable part of the Cambridge running scene, as the team have trained through the recent challenging weather. Now the months of training and commitment will be put to the test on the streets of the city.

Each Cambridge Consultants runner has chosen their own charity this year, with the company matching the funds raised by individuals – an approach that has seen tens of thousands raised since the company began sponsoring the race in 2015. One runner, Steph Blinston, Senior HR Administrator, shared her charity choice and motivation: “I’m running to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society, which is the UK’s leading dementia charity. Here in the UK someone develops dementia every three minutes, and there’s currently no cure. We’ve been living with dementia in my family for the last few years, as have millions of others, and having seen its effects I’m determined to raise funds to ensure we can face the condition head on.”
